Works by artists from Kamyar Nazari's studio school, including Zohreh Akbari, Suri Amiri, Bahar Fayyaz, Forough Jabbari, Kimia Makvandi, Marzieh Shanehsazzadeh, Elahe Siavashi, and Nasrin Vahidi Asl.

Kamyar Nazari

A passionate and dedicated visual artist, Kam's work blends realism, impressionism, and Baroque influences. Trained from a young age, he honed his technique through formal lessons and mentorships, developing a style that is both technically refined and emotionally resonant.

Working in oil, pencil, pastel, and charcoal, Kam uses light, texture, and form to evoke emotion and capture the beauty of everyday life. Influenced by classical masters like Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Bouguereau, and impressionists such as Monet and Degas, his art reflects a deep connection to human experience. Kam's studio is a quiet, light-filled space designed for focus and reflection. Kam values persistence over perfection, embracing the process as essential to growth. When creatively blocked, he steps away to reset, often through walking or sketching without pressure. Balancing art with personal life, Kam maintains boundaries and treats his practice as a daily ritual, while nurturing relationships to stay grounded and creatively refreshed.

Zohreh Akbari

An Iranian-born artist, Zohreh Akbari began painting as a personal pursuit in Iran. Now based in Perth, her practice has evolved under the mentorship of Kam Nazari.

Zohreh's work explores identity, migration, and cultural fusion, blending Persian art traditions with Australian influences. Inspired by Persian miniatures, nature, and her mentor, she creates intricate, emotionally resonant pieces.

Her cozy home studio reflects her dual heritage, filled with sketches from Iran and scenes from Perth. It's a peaceful place where she can immerse herslelf in painting for hours.

Guided by Nazari’s advice to paint with feeling, Zohreh stays motivated through structured goals, community support, and a balanced lifestyle. Her art is a reflection of personal growth and a bridge between cultures. She dreams of an exhibition touring between Iran and Australia featuring collaborative works with other migrant artists.

Suri Amiri

An artist deeply inspired by nature, travel, and personal reflection, Suri uses painting to express emotions that words can’t. Her work draws heavily from landscapes, cultural experiences, and her inner world, and seeks to evoke calm, connection, and curiosity.

Starting as a personal practice, Suri's art has evolved into a public expression shared through exhibitions. She dreams of creating a series of travel-inspired artworks that capture the spirit of each place.

Guided by the mantra "trust the process," Suri overcomes creative blocks by engaging with nature, new experiences, and grounding rituals. For her, art and life are inseparable - each feeding the other. Ultimately, her goal is to offer viewers a quiet, meaningful connection through her work.

Bahar Fayyaz

Bahar began her creative journey in 2024 at Kamyar Studio, driven by a lifelong passion for art. Her work focuses on expressing emotions and personal experiences visually, inviting viewers to connect and interpret freely. Inspired by honest creatives, who express their emotions and ideas in unique ways, Bahar's practice has evolved through constant learning, exploration, and self-discovery.

A key piece of advice Bahar cherishes is "every small thing can be like a candle, lighting the way forward". Her studio is a cozy, inspiring space filled with warmth, music, plants, and art. Her dream is to create something meaningful, expressing personal emotion and vision, that resonates with others.

Reflecting on her journey, Bahar sometimes wishes she had started this journey earlier in life, but she expresses gratitude to be doing it now. Art seamlessly integrates with her busy life, offering balance and calm, and she encourages others to pursue something meaningful, just for themselves, amid life’s fast pace.

Forough Jabbari

Forough is an emerging artist whose work is rooted in emotional reflection and a deep connection to nature. Initially painting as a personal escape, her practice has evolved into a meditative expression that invites viewers to slow down and find peace in life's small things.

Guided by advice to "trust the process," Forough finds fulfillment in the process of painting; her style emphasizes presence and serenity.

Forough's dream project would be to create immersive, large-scale works that serve as sanctuaries of stillness. She views art as both a personal and shared journey toward peace.

Kimia Makvandi

Kimiya began her artistic journey in Iran, paused after moving to Australia; then resumed her artwork about three years ago.

Kimiya works in a cozy, sunlit corner of her home that fosters creativity, accompanied by soft music. Her work reflects her emotional state and evolving perspectives at the time of creating. Her practice has grown through experimenting with colored pencils, pastels, and pastel pencils.

Her dream project would be to travel to culturally rich places like Paris, Rome, Cairo, and Machu Picchu to capture their essence through photography and translate those experiences into a large-scale art exhibition.

Balancing a full-time engineering career and motherhood, Kimiya schedules her time to nurture her art, motivated by the fulfillment her work brings and the desire to inspire her daughter.

Kimiya’s guiding advice is to always listen to her inner voice, a principle that helps her navigate both life and art with passion and dedication. She expresses gratitude for the chance to share her journey and looks forward to continuing it with enthusiasm.

Marzieh Shanehsazzadeh

Influenced by classic realist painters and nature, Marzieh loves capturing everyday life with detail and emotion to reveal the beauty in ordinary moments. Her work encourages viewers to slow down and look closely. Marzieh began her career with a love of drawing, and over time her focus on realism led to a deeper exploration of the style.

She works in a calm, light-filled studio that supports a reflective practice. Observing the life around her gives Marzieh endless ideas and motivation.

Elaheh Siavashi

A mother of two amazing sons, Elaheh uses painting as a powerful tool for healing, resilience, and celebration of life. Her work evolved deeply after surviving two open-heart surgeries, shifting from image-making to emotional storytelling. Her calm, light-filled studio reflects her journey, designed as a sanctuary of strength and peace. She dreams of creating an immersive series that walks viewers through a visual story of overcoming hardship. Inspired by nature and daily beauty, she overcomes creative blocks through patience and reflection. Motivated by the hope her work can offer others, she balances motherhood and art by embracing small, meaningful moments to paint. Her core message: even in struggle, beauty and strength remain.

Nasrin Vahidi Asl

Nazrin, an engineer and parent, rediscovered her passion for art in 2021, turning painting into a form of therapy and self-connection. Driven by emotion and life’s everyday challenges, her work seeks to express feelings words can't capture, aiming to uplift and connect with viewers.

Although not a career artist, Nazrin has seen her artistic journey evolving from a beginner to someone who paints with intention and confidence. She paints in a quiet corner of her home. Nazrin has learned that art is more about practice than innate creativity. For Nazrin, painting brings balance, joy, and a reminder that it’s never too late to return to what you love.
