Tell us a bit about yourself

I have been painting up a storm in the last few years, drawing on all of Western Australia's natural beauty.

What does your work aim to say?

When I create, I aim to capture a idea or feeling. I'm always out and about exploring and producing new work. My exhibition, Front Room, is a collection of expressive oil paintings that communicate the richness of the great outdoors through the viewer's unique experience.

Who (or what) are your biggest influences?

I am interested in sustainable art practices, and I use reclaimed canvases for my work. I also experiment with reconstructing these canvases to take on new forms and new life. I can see myself taking on more sustainability-inspired practices and ideas.

Describe your studio or workspace

I like to keep it simple and turn any space into an art studio if I can be comfortable and uninhibited. My workshop, however, is an established zone for power tools and sawdust. I try to keep the carpentry in the workshop and away from the dining room table!

Describe your dream project

I'm currently living my dream and feeling free to create and explore new ideas, wherever they may take me.

How do you overcome creative blocks?

I really don't struggle with creative blocks in general. Some of my best work comes to me when I am "not in the mood" for painting. I like to just start anyway!
