I am self-taught and began painting seriously in 2015. I have held two solo and several joint exhibitions.
I like to depict the beauty of nature using a colourful palette and - mostly - a palette knife.
My work endeavours to impart my impressions of nature - I want the viewer to see what I see. Like Claude Monet I am fascinated by light and colour. The amazing colours, characteristics and changes that nature provides.
My dream project would be to paint my garden in book form
The best piece of advice I've received is try to do something with art every day, whether it is reading, watching, or doing.
I stay motivated in my art practice by setting time aside to do it. Painting every Thursday at Lilac Hill with my friends is very rewarding and satisfying.

Terrie Dunham
I didn't start painting until my forties; then I worked for Stirk Ceramics in Midland and started teaching painting ceramics for children's parties. Now I paint on objects, and more recently on canvas. I also love to do collage.
I like lots of colour, and flowers, and abstract shapes. Detail isn't my thing.
I hope my art makes people happy.
I am inspired by Frida Kahlo as a person; I find her face so interesting and love the bright colours of her clothes, and I love Mexican art.
I paint at home every day. I love painting at Lilac Hill - I joined the group about six months ago.
Linda Marie Bunce
I was introduced to art at an early age during family visits to the WA Art Gallery. This led to a lifetime of enjoying art. I dabbled with watercolour, pastel, oils, acrylic, collage, and tapestry while experimenting with many forms. My favourite topics are faces and the human form. I draw inspiration from Norman Lindsy, Tamara de Lempicka, Andy Warhol, Gustav Klimt, Picasso, and Modigliani. When I retired from my 50 year career in banking, I was invited to attend the Lilac Hill Art Group, who have become special friends and valuable artist peers.
I now mostly use oils and occasionally acrylic, however my eclectic predisposition, regarding many varied subjects and styles, has not altered and I enjoy any sort of creations that may take my fancy. I hope people enjoy my creations and that of my companions, irrespective of whether they are to your personal taste, as it is in discussion and interaction, that makes our work of value and our world a better place.
John Ashton
I began making art when I retired. I use oil paints or pastels depending on the subject I want to represent.
