Making an Impression - An Australian Artist Abroad

About the Speaker

Jillian’s work focuses on photography and printmaking, examining issues of identity and place.  Jillian won the WA Print Media Award in 2012, and twice has been a finalist in the Fremantle Art Centre Print Award.


Her work examines the individual using narratives, which she extends through environmental and urban imagery. Jillian has exhibited internationally including a collateral exhibition of the Venice Biennale, 18th Asian Art Biennale in Bangladesh, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, and G20 Summit International Art Exhibition, China.


About the Talk

Born in Kalgoorlie, Jillian Ciemitis has travelled the globe. As a photographer and printmaker, she has taken artwork to Italy, India, Bangladesh, China and Japan, whilst bringing inspiration back from those places and cultures.


Join Jillian in a highly illustrated panel-style conversation about her art, her travels, and about her highlights abroad. Hear about her process of art-making, her International and collaborative endeavours, and travel stories.
